Well, I did it. I deleted my Facebook account. Good riddance. Facebook has been the cause of almost ALL of my family’s drama lately. I’ve always been a fan of the old adage “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I’d like to add a little bit to that. ”If you have something important to talk about with someone, don’t say it on Facebook. Call them or talk to them in person.” I can say from personal experience that there are little emotional nuances and intentions you can pick on from a person in an actual conversation that can’t really be picked up on in a text message or a Facebook message that can be mistaken for different meanings.
So at least for now, goodbye social networking. Seeing pictures and getting to update my status of all the fun and funny things happening in my life is not worth all the trouble, heartache, and stress that you have caused me and my family.
Also, why is it called Facebook? That’s really the dumbest name for a social networking site. If it was really a Face Book, it would look something like this.
